City with a story

The stories are there for the taking in Haarlem: from the invention of printing by 'Lautje' to the hidden courtyards that Haarlem is rich in and from stately city parks to the many breweries of the past and present. Stories from the past that say something about the city that Haarlem is today. Celebrate Spring

During the "Celebrate Spring" campaign, the city of Haarlem was full of colorful bus shelters with the message: Feel, experience and taste spring in Haarlem. This could be experienced not only in the hospitality industry or in the arts and culture sector, but also in the cozy shopping streets. Spring in Haarlem this year was a big flower festival including the Flower Market and Tulip Picking Garden. And all the shopping streets were also in bloom, because in March and April, crates of tulips were in the city. Anyone who made a purchase was allowed to pick a tulip with a bulb. Thus, the spring feeling was spread throughout the city. These actions were in cooperation with the entrepreneurs of BIZ Binnenstad Haarlem, LOCO Concepts and Spaarnelanden. 

She Enchanted Me

Last summer we organized a business meeting for our partners where we had asked singer-songwriter Raoul Michel to write a song for the occasion. And what a song! Because of the positive response, we decided right away to make a studio recording of the song, ideal for underneath our promotional video footage. Gradually the idea arose to actually officially release the song together as a marketing strategy. This catchy song needs to be heard by every fan of Haarlem. Thus arose the fine collaboration between Haarlem Marketing and Raoul Michel. 

Haarlem Midweek

On weekdays, discover versatile Haarlem at your leisure. Be enchanted by the historic city center. Stroll along hidden courtyards, museum treasures and unique stores or llet your senses be stimulated in one of the many good restaurants in the city and enjoy a drink with a beautiful view. After an adventurous day you can sleep in one of the beautiful hotels. In short: A Haarlem Midweek offers you the opportunity to experience the city as the locals do.

Eat & Buy Local

Haarlem Marketing received an additional project grant at the end of 2021 to provide brief additional support for the previous promotion of "Eat & Buy Local. The aim was to give a boost to local entrepreneurs, who were facing difficult times due to the necessary corona measures. By encouraging residents and (regional) visitors to buy local as much as possible (on- and offline) at quiet times in the city. For both stores and restaurants in the city center and the surrounding area, as well as for the stores affiliated with Haarlemsewinkels.nl. The starting point during the campaign was to give proportional attention to the hospitality industry and stores.  

Local Food Bicycle Tour

The Local food bike route is a great way to explore the Haarlem area while enjoying delicious local food. During this route you will pass several food gems where you can enjoy traditionally prepared dishes, fresh produce and local specialties. 

The beauty of this route is that you can not only enjoy the food, but also listen to inspiring stories from local entrepreneurs. They will be happy to tell you about their passion for food. 

In short, the Local food bike route is a fantastic experience for everyone who loves good food, inspiring stories and interesting information about Haarlem and its surroundings. Perfect for a fun day out with family or friends!
