Celebrate spring

A CELEBRATION OF FLOWERS!

During the 'Celebrate Spring' campaign, our colorful bus shelters hung throughout the city with the message: Feel, experience and taste spring in Haarlem. And you don't just do that in the hospitality industry or the arts and culture sector, but also in the pleasant shopping streets. Spring in Haarlem was one big flower festival this year, with the Flower Market with Tulip Picking Garden on Sunday, April 2. And also all the shopping streets in bloom, because from March 22 to April 20 crates of tulips stood in the streets. Anyone who made a purchase was allowed to pick a tulip with a bulb. Thus the spring feeling was spread throughout the city. These actions were in cooperation with the entrepreneurs of BIZ Binnenstad Haarlem, LOCO concepts and Spaarnelanden.

She Enchanted Me

A MUSICAL CAMPAIGN

Last summer we organized a business meeting for our partners where we had asked singer-songwriter Raoul Michel to write a song for the occasion. And what a song, everyone responded enthusiastically. And so one thing led to another. We decided on the same day to record the song in a studio, ideal for underneath our promotional video footage. Gradually the idea formed to actually officially release the song together as a marketing strategy, because a catchy song like this is something every fan of Haarlem needs to hear. And so the collaboration between Haarlem Marketing and Raoul Michel continued to grow.

Just Haarlem

Haarlem is a special city. A city with many faces. With impressive churches and tasteful restaurants. With stylish fashion stores and a great cultural offer. A city that is surrounded by beautiful nature, with the beach within cycling distance. A city with a pleasant atmosphere. This We are going to tell the whole of the Netherlands in the coming period, including the people of Haarlem themselves. This week, Haarlem Marketing launches the campaign Zomaar...

Haarlem Blooms Up!

WONDER AND ADVENTURE

At the end of February, all government measures expired and suddenly everything was allowed again. We celebrated this with our "Haarlem Bloeit op!" campaign, of course a nod to Haarlem as a flower city and the fact that everything reopened. The city's pillars of gastronomy, shopping and culture were the starting point for this campaign. We focused our campaign reach mainly on target groups in the region because tourism had to start up all over again.

Eat & Buy Local

A CITY WITH MANY FACES

In late 2021, Haarlem Marketing received an additional project subsidy for the period in late 2021 and early 2022. This was to briefly reinforce the earlier "Eat & Buy Local" promotion to provide additional support to local entrepreneurs who were in difficult times due to the necessary corona measures. Again we tried to encourage residents and (regional) visitors to buy as much local as possible (on- and offline) at quiet moments in the city. For both stores and restaurants in the city center and surrounding area, and so did the stores affiliated with Haarlemsewinkels.nl. Our starting point during the campaign was to give proportional attention to the hospitality industry and stores.

All the action, but not the crowds: on weekdays, discover versatile Haarlem at your leisure. Be enchanted by the historic city center. Stroll past hidden courtyards, museum treasures and stores you will not see anywhere else. Put your senses to work in one of the many fine restaurants and enjoy a drink with a great view. Sleep like you've never slept before after a dose of fresh sea air. A Haarlem Midweek offers you all the city adventures like the locals do.

In 2020, we started rolling out campaigns focused on our four pillars, with the slogan "This is something you don't want to miss. From project Toekomstbestendig Haarlem we show known and less known places and themes to inspire both residents and visitors to visit other places. In the context of visitor distribution, this campaign, together with the pressure meter, is an important tool to guide residents and visitors safely on the road in Haarlem and surroundings.
